You can predict Breaking Bad; in fact Breaking Bad is so predictable it's embarrassing. It's a mildly unsettling mentality, to be sure, but thus far Bad's mercurial formula adds up to one really good trip.
The season picks up and gets extremely good and original at the very end of the season. Excellent start to an amazing series. Breaking Bad falls around the middle of the pack in the new wave of cable dramas. Fugitive Jesse Pinkman runs from his captors, the law and his past. But, once I was hooked, I was absolutely hooked.
